I’m Youssef, the reader behind Nile Ink. For years, games and films were where I found my stories. I wanted to read the books they came from—to see what the adaptations left out, and to keep going without waiting for the next film. But wanting to read and actually starting were two different things.

Eventually, I started. One book led to another, and reading became something I wanted to make room for every day. Nile Ink grows out of that discovery: the excitement of finding a story you can’t wait to return to.

We’re building an English-language bookshop in Cairo, with room for both new and preloved books. Our interests run from unsettling horror and big science-fiction ideas to sprawling fantasy, classics, and stories closer to everyday life.

A book is more than its title. The cover, the edition, the size, the feel of a well-loved copy—all of these matter when you’re choosing something for your own shelf. We want browsing Nile Ink to reflect that care.
